The installation Wachen is a metal mesh that highlights the simultaneous presence of violence and safety. Composed mainly of butcher’s stab-protection aprons, used to protect the butcher’s body during the killing of animals, the installation is stretch-ed between chains and hooks.

The inorganic surface appears soft, fragile, and organic due to its fur-like structure. Upon closer examination, the wire structure reveals itself to be sharp and hard.
